New work // by sophie green

Over summer I’ve been making regular trips to our charming and glamorous British seasides to make pictures. Travelling between Margate, Essex and Liverpool so far - the project is on going. I photographed Emily, holding her gigantic mass of arcade game tickets and couple Toni and Jamie at New Brighton beach in Liverpool.

AIRBNB MAGAZINE - SEVILLE // by sophie green

I travelled to Seville, Spain to document the notorious "Virgin Mary mania" for Airbnb Magazine. The cultural fascination does not only manifest itself in the major religious celebrations and processions that happen there, but also in the city's everyday existence.

THE DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION AD CAMPAIGN // by sophie green

A campaign for The Department for Education via M&C Saatchi which documents real apprentices in their place of work around the UK, who are representing some of the most exciting and fulfilling apprenticeship roles available right now. FANTASTIC AUTOMATIC - V&A MUSEUM // by sophie green

Happy to announce that my project, 'Bangers & Smash' which captures the Banger and Stock Car racing sport and community in its most revealing, honest and intimate form to expose the cultural and social complexities behind it- will be exhibited at Victoria & Albert Museum as part of their Friday Late: Fantastic Automatic show on Friday 29 November, 18.30-22.00.

'Whether a symbol of success, a political statement or simply a way to get from A to B, cars inspire cultures and communities that reach beyond the vehicles themselves. This Friday Late, hear super-charged car sound systems and take part in immersive installations questioning stillness, motion and speed. Explore racing communities at home and abroad, and see how lifestyles are sold along with the wheels. Question the future of mobility and consider how today’s drivers might shape the car culture of tomorrow.’
